A corn is a distinctively shaped callus of dead skin that usually occurs on thin or glabrous skin surface.
They are circumscribed, cone shaped, hyperkeratosis of the skin
Clinical features of Corn
- Size varies from 1 mm to 2 mm in diameter
- Apex of this conical mass is pointed inward and presses upon the subjacent structure
- Pressure upon nerves can cause severe pain
- Common sites are thicker skin of palms or bottom of feet
